InSian Gallery:【The preface of Yang, Jian-Ming works album】

The contemporary artists in Taiwan have experienced environmental changes and faced the vocabulary performance of Jen-Ming due to the background of the times. The series of themes with the painting space, color and symbolic symbols provide us with a clear and consistent interpretation of his creation ideas. With Taiwan’s political severance in 1987, which fully affected Taiwan’s society, such as media flourishing, relationship between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party changing, street movements frequently, and eco-friendly issues. During this period of growth, under such creative space Taiwan bred an outstanding contemporary artist Yang, Jen-Ming.



The imagination of the spirit by the times, Jen-Ming’s creative experience is very complete and constantly tried and transformed. His works doesn’t stick to regular models, and he is braves to break through innovation. Since the early Intellectual series, Black Water and New Vegetation series, Halo series, to the Unstable Tie series and Pretending Moonlight series of the recent creation, etc. "Thinking" is the most important link in Yang, Jen-Ming creation. Under the simple geometric concept after multi-level refinement, by dividing and stacking, he creates unlimited possibilities.



Yang, Jen-Ming presents to every appreciator with his rich and diverse works. In Jen-Ming 's works, appreciators can see the artist's imagination, originality, and structural tension from his works. When we savor the works of Jen-Ming from different periods, we were surprised to see that an artist can still adhere to ideals and goals in the changing social environment, even in the difficult conditions of living environment and artistic ecology. In Yang, Jen-Ming, we see the changes and constants of contemporary Taiwanese artists in the face of their cultural expression and artistic creation. Through the transformation of different styles, to record the most direct and deeply moved. The constant is the artist’s most sincere and valuable dedication.





When looking back at Jen-Ming creations over the years, it is often found that the works are full of conflict and coordination between rationality and sensibility, especially in the construction process of three-dimensional cutting and automatic painting. Perhaps this related to the personal characteristics of Jen-Ming, who is full of heavy metal accessories and loves Harley motorcycles. He conveys his symbolic language in a way of thinking, and finally weaves out a bewildering and novel artistic scene.
